Hi! My name is Maryann. I’m just an ordinary woman who is passionate about optometry and healthy living. My journey started in my hometown of Orlando Florida, where I attended UCF for my undergraduate degree. I then continued my education at Western University College of Optometry in Southern California to earn my doctorate. On graduation day my now husband proposed and just like that, I ended up a married optometric physician living in SoCal.
So why have I created this page? My mission is simple: I believe knowledge is the key to prevention and my goal is to educate people about optometry and health while sharing my personal life journey. I’m also hoping to gain insight and grow myself. I was inspired to create this platform after seeing so many patients with preventable diseases who didn’t know much about their condition. I found myself educating my patients on ocular conditions as well as preventative medicine and realized there was an overall lack of knowledge, to no fault of their own. I enjoy connecting with my patients so much that I want to connect with people outside of my exam room as well! I hope I can give you useful information to better your everyday lives.
